The Olde Ford
The Olde Ford is a well appointed guest house establishment beside the River Esk, 3 miles from Whitby. Surrounded by wonderful countryside for walking and touring. Whitby is 3 miles. As well as the old world charm of Whitby with its famous Abbey and maritime heritage, there are a wealth of charming villages, both on the coast and throughout the moors, for you to explore at your leisure. The area is a walkers paradise and well marked footpaths abound for you to explore with one of the guide books you can borrow from the guest house, the Esk Valley Railway and the North York Moors steam trains provide alternative means of transport. The River Esk flows along the bottom of our large garden which has several different areas in which to pass an hour or so relaxing in the sun, or to sit and enjoy a drink in the summer whilst watching the wildlife which the river attracts. Our own off road parking has room for all our guests cars. If you wish to leave your car here all day you can catch a train or a bus into Whitby - a half hourly service each weekday. We are happy to accept dogs, at a small charge, provided that they are well behaved and do not disturb other guests. A few quotes from our visitors books.
