The Sandbeck
The Sandbeck (Private Hotel) is a large corner-sited, family-run bed and breakfast hotel in Whitby enjoying spectacular views of both sea and harbour. The hotel is strictly non-smoking except for the bar lounge. The hotel is quietly located on the West Cliff and provides comfortable, spacious accommodation over 6 floors although most bedrooms are accessible by lift. The hotel is within strolling distance of Whitby's many attractions It is graded by both AA and RAC. The hotel has both a 'quiet' lounge and a licensed bar lounge for guest enjoyment as well as a licensed restaurant which is open to residents and non-residents, Wednesday to Saturday evenings and also for Sunday lunch; residents can also enjoy bar snacks which are available on Friday and Saturday evenings. Breakfast is a generous 3-course cooked to order from a varied menu, we also pride ourselves on our vegetarian and children's menus, as well as options for those with various intolerance /allergies ie wheat, dairy, citrus, coeliac etc. The Sandbeck comprises 2 adjoining buildings with through connections, now referred to as the East and West Wings. The hotel currently has a total of 24 en suite bedrooms, all with colour TV (not satellite), generous hospitality trays and complimentary toiletries. Former guests will know that the owners have embarked upon the gradual, full refurbishment of both the buildings and changes are being made with guest enjoyment and comfort being paramount. Our commitment is currently to be the best we can possibly be, and in the future to be the best in Whitby.
